Right now, sex trafficking and sexual exploitation are taking place on an industrial scale in the UK. That's because our law fails to deter demand from sex buyers and allows ruthless companies to facilitate and profit from this abuse.
But there is a way to stop this.
Write to your MP and ask them to bust the business model of sex trafficking by adopting demand reduction legislation.
Demand reduction legislation would:
- Reduce demand by making it a criminal offence to sexually exploit a person by paying them for sex acts;
- Decriminalise victims of sexual exploitation by removing sanctions for soliciting;
- Deliver support and exiting services for people who have been sexually exploited; and
- Stop pimping websites and other 'third party' exploiters facilitating and profiting from the sexual exploitation of others.
